We have all mastercraft doors and every single one leaks under our flooring causing us to replace our subfloors in a 3 year old house. Angery beyond belief.

Menards was no help, they called after I sent pictures and spoke to my father which was unaware of my issues. They td him to have me call back.
When I called no one had a clue as to who called and could not help. A partial refund should be an option because the issues will cost money to repair.
They supposedly offered a replacement but it took 2 days to install. I can't start over, borrow another truck, by more supplies, pull out framing materials etc.
I emacs menards the issues with pictures. They called and talked to my father which jad no idea of my issues.
They said I could call back, they would leave a note. I called and no one knew who had called and could not help. Supposedly they offered an exchange. I don't feel I should have to rip the door out that took 2 days to install.
The issues can be fixed with time and money. A discount or partial refund should be an option.
They say they are built to order buy mine has a time stamp that was but a month prior from the day I ordered online. The nails have split the frame in several spots. Some nails are sticking out of the side of the frame.
It Jase missing wood in more than one spot and it was dented. That's not good for a steel door that they say will rust if scratched.
- Good looking options
- Poor craftsmanship no help from menards
Preferred solution: Price reduction

Worst quality ever!!!
Cheaply made. Ordered 4 doors.
One came with the wrong hinges. Brushed nickel not brass. The cutting them out of the supports and realized the frame was cheap pressboard I did not want to replace the hinges. I would rather have the wrong hinges then strip out the threaded holes.
Reorder was to long. Just hung one more. There is a 1/4" all the way down the door know side of the door. The gap on the hinge side of the door is controlled hinges.
The gap on the know side is controlled by the top board. That board is to long. I would have to pull the frame apart and recut it. Really.
Never again!!!
Bob Vela hit it right on the head. He referred to them as GARBAGE.
User's recommendation: Never ever buy them.
Horrible quality
Not sure where to begin. Not enough time or energy to list everything that's wrong with my door.
The hinges are held in by the shortest screws that I've ever seen. Every one on both sides were stripped. Only found out after the door was sagging. The cut-out for the hinges to seat in were not even close to being right.
Whatever pretend wood the inside is made of is a total joke. The only good thing I could say about this door is the inside blind worked
User's recommendation: Do Not Buy Mastercraft Doors. EVER
Dissatisfaction with purchase experience and product .
Initial dissatisfaction was with how many attempts it took Menards to get 3 exterior doors in for us without damage. Each door had to be reordered multiple times because they constantly came in damaged.
Menards owns Mastercraft and controls the trucking, but yet the employees told me that the damage was a day in day out occurrence.
Once I received the doors and had them professionally installed,I found that the bottom door seals needed to be replaced every year or two at approx. $20 ea. I have talked to others who have the same complaint. One door face surface (fiberglass door) cracked around the doorknob when I tried to tighten the screws enough that the *** wouldn't move around.
Upon closing examination, I found that the door was hollow under most of the doorknob where there should be supporting edge frame. I payed thousands of dollars for Mastercraft doors, what a mistake !!!
User's recommendation: Buy doors made by someone other than Mastercraft byMenards!
Worst set of doors made
This is definately bottom of the barrel. It should be illegal to charge 1500.00 for doors so flimsy.
I'm probably going to have to get new ones that are better built. So now I know why I shouldn't shop at menards.
- Thier removal
- Really flimsy
Very poor quality framing on door
I bought the 48 x 80 ball and catch french closet doors at Menards. The actual door panels were fine.
However, the framing on the product was terrible. Instead of using solid wood for the frame, they used particle board wrapped in paper. The corners of the frame were held together with a few brads, and upon taking the door out of the shipping packaging, the weight of the doors moving caused the joint to literally split apart, with the particle board falling apart everywhere. This of course made the doors uninstallable.
I had to glue the corners together and use metal brackets on the corner to get it to hold together. Also, the frame was warped. There was no way to install them flush and plumb. Then, with additional screws to compensate for the *** frame, since it was wrapped in paper, the screws pushed up the paper, making it near impossible to counterset the screws and sand and paint over.
I bought two of these, and since they are special order, I could not return them. Awful, shoddy product.
User's recommendation: Don't buy
Poor Quality
I purchased 16 interior pre-hung doors, most of which had the doors, jambs, or both immediately warp.
Further, doors and jambs of the same size are out of alignment. I painted the doors and jambs.
Several door knobs, latch plates, and strike plates are misaligned. It's clear that they have no quality control process, or standard machining.
I'll never purchase MasterCraft again after spending more than $2,000 on doors and paint just to have a truly awful experience with the craftsmanship on the supplier's end.
Preferred solution: Full refund
My door is junk
We only had it for two years and there a crack along the side of the door where you can see sunlight coming in and pretty soon it's gonna be winter and we are going to lose a lot of heat. My husband was not impressed with this door one bit. I really hope that you could help us because we don't have money to replace the door again thanks

Verified Reviewer |Interior blinds don't work opening or closing
I emailed them and *** F. support agent; responded.
Told me to contact MastercraftDoorHelp@***.com. I haven't heard back from them and after 2 months, I have given up on any response.
Mastercraft & Menards aren't worth my time fighting them. I already quit doing business with them and will probably put up drapes to cover the windows.
This makes the blinds unusable to open or close. I went back to the Sidney, Ohio Menards and voiced the problem. The man said that this was a common problem and I needed to purchase two complete windows at $176.00 each. I asked about the limited lifetime warranty and he said that it didn't cover the interior blinds.
What a crock! I now only go to Lowes or Home Depot. A year ago I went to purchase some lumber when It was 11% off.
I had the old quote from a month before and they had raised their prices then applied the 11%. Mastercraft and Menards are not a honest company.
Preferred solution: Have the door glass repaired if possible or get new glass with working blinds.
Run, don't walk away
Biggest Waste of money I have ever done. They will NOT hold up.
The staining and quality control is terrible.
We returned 3 times and still not great. Don't waste your money

Menards sold my contractor defective Mastercraft doors twice.
The quality of the door is poor as window was never sealed at the Manufactuing level. Both doors same issue.
I do not recommend this product to anyone I know.

Stupid design and shoddy material
My cookies are well and truly frosted! We ordered an exterior door from Menards , a brand called Mastercraft.
Picked it up today and began the install. There was a website on the lable to give instruction. I don't know what brand of door those people were installing but it sure was NOT the same door we had. I don't know whose brilliant idea it was to put nails in the frame to keep the door closed in shipping (not what the instructions showed either) but whoever you are, you are a total and complete idiot.
The cheap *** nail head busted off and left us in a terrible pickle. The brand new door is now scratched and has a gouge in what appears to be pressboard.
So I'm thinking the quality of the door is just as *** as the nails they used and the engineer who designed it. If you are looking to replace a door, DO NOT buy Mastercraft from Menards.

Verified Reviewer |Poor Quality Door
We had two new Mastercraft exterior doors installed by a carpenter this summer. One of them is a side door on the garage so no big deal, but the other is an exterior door to the house, and it leaks cold air.
Very disappointing for a new door that comes pre-hung in this day and age! Now I have to go and buy some weatherstripping to try and patch up the leaky door.
Had I known this I would never have purchased this door. For anyone concerned about energy conservation, DO NOT BUY MASTERCRAFT EXTERIOR DOORS.
- Affordable
- In this day and age a new door should be airtight

Complaint about Mastercraft fire door, Menards model 414****
I just installed this door and it took more time to get the protective film off the front and back than it did to install the door and it seemed like I should have used a heat gun. It took some muscle and technique to learn the best method which was pulling at 90 with a jolt and a bit of muscle repeatedly little by little and carefully peeling from around the top and bottom edges for 20 minutes. Now I have to figure out the best way to get the printing off of the door which bled through the protective film and does not easily come off.
The door must get marked down for this a little but the manufacturer must get marked down much more since this is inexcusable since this kind of problem is the thing that should just be a effortless process when installing a door.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
User's recommendation: The price may be better for the mastercraft door you're considering so peel the protective film back while at the store just to know what you're in for. If this ink comes off then I still would buy the door because of the better price.
